Every year the University of Cambridge organises three of the most popular education festivals in the region. The internationally-renowned Cambridge Science Festival attracts over 60,000 yearly visitors while the Festival of Ideas and Open Cambridge attract another 35,000.

Thousands of University researchers contribute to these festivals while University volunteers makeup roughly 30% of the staff.
